Tally Square
Tally Square is located just southeast of historic Downtown, away from the hustle and bustle of Tallahassee. It features a pool and could make a great choice for FAMU alumni and family.

Many Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University alumni end up moving back to Tallahassee, or some may never leave, and they choose to raise a family in Tallahassee. So, the answer is yes, Tallahassee is an excellent place for families, and we are sure you will find an apartment near FAMU for your family. A lot is going on in this smaller city than meets the eye. It may be different events than you attended in college, but there are plenty of family fun times to be had around Tallahassee.

Enjoy All The City Has To Offer

College cities, especially Tallahassee, are great places to raise a family. The colleges in town constantly bring new, young citizens to the area, whether they are here to attend TCC, FSU or your college of FAMU, keeping the city's vibe youthful with many fun events around Tallahassee that all can enjoy. For all the family-friendly events in the area, check out the Fun 4 Tally Kids website and the event calendar. Or if your family enjoys sporting events, you may want to watch the FAMU Rattlers football team at the Bragg Stadium or basketball at the All Lawson Center; there are plenty of chances to cheer on the Rattlers with your family.

Educational Opportunities

There are plenty of good educational opportunities for your children around the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical campus. Whether you opt for public education within the Leon Schools system, vie for a spot in the Florida A&M University's Developmental Research School or look for private school education or childcare we are certain you will find a school that works best for your family of course before they are ready for college and of course follow in the family tradition of attending the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and becoming a Rattler themselves.

Find A Quiet Spot

When moving to a college town like Tallahassee, one of the most important things to look for is your nonstudent apartment in Tallahassee amenities. You will probably want to look for a quiet apartment away from the traditional college life but maybe still within the southwest Tallahassee area. A swimming pool is a nice treat for families, especially during the warm summer months. You may also choose to live near one of our great city parks or pools that you can enjoy as a family, including Cascades Park or Tom Brown Park. You may choose to be on a route for public transportation to take trips to the Leon county library, events around town, or even commute to work.

Great Location

While you may not be looking for a traditional FAMU apartment when you move back with your family to the Tallahassee area, there are many options and benefits of living here as a working professional with your family. The Florida state capitol is here, we have two major universities and a great community college system. We are close to the famous beaches in the panhandle or a quick drive down I-10 to Jacksonville. If you crave the bigger city life for a weekend, Atlanta in Georgia or Orlando makes for family fun weekend trips.
