The Lake Jackson Aquatic Preserve

The Lake Jackson Aquatic preserve is a stunning natural resource with a vast array of waterfowl and marine life. Here you can fish for trophy-size largemouth bass, or kayak with friends and look for alligators and wading birds. The lake is relatively shallow – except for the two large sinkholes near the middle, Porter Hole Sink and Lime Hole, that can be as deep as 28 feet.

Ochlockonee River Wildlife Management Area

A part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, this Wildlife Management Area is hugely popular with local hunters for its abundance of wild hogs, deer, and duck. The park also has forest hiking trails, picnic areas, and amazing nature views.

Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park

History buff? This state park is a great experience for anyone who enjoys learning about Florida history. The park is a beloved site for archaeologists, rich with historical artifacts.
