I’m looking for ways to relax and enjoy the local entertainment scene. Where can I catch some live performances near my TCC apartment?

Entertainment can be defined as the action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment. I think we can all agree that it's important to enjoy life with a little entertainment and amusement every once in a while. Some of us find joy in attending sporting events, theatrical performances or in catching a live performance from your favorite musician. Just minutes from your Tallahassee Community College apartment you'll find a variety of fun and exciting entertainment options year-round.

Doak Campbell FSU Stadium

If you're a fan of Florida State football, then you're probably familiar with Doak Campbell Stadium. Opening in 1950, the 80,000-person stadium is the largest building in the United States with a continuous brick structure and the second-largest stadium within the Atlantic Coast Conference. In the fall, you can catch one of the notorious Seminole football games here – be sure to wear garnet and gold and learn the tomahawk. You can't have college football without tailgating! Bask in the smell of hotdogs and burgers with a cold brew in hand or play a round of corn hole with your pals before the game. Living in Southwest Tallahassee, your TCC apartment will put you right in the middle of all the action come football season!

Tucker Civic Center

FSU's very own Tucker Civic Center hosts a slew of events throughout the year. This 12,500- seat arena is home to Florida State University's very own Seminoles basketball team. If you're a fan of college basketball, this is the place to go! Many popular music artists perform here as well. If you're looking for a little more than a sports event or concert, the arena also hosts monster truck shows! See the country's most competitive car-crushing trucks compete against each other and perform awe inspiring freestyle moves. You can even catch the circus here! Snack on popcorn and cotton candy while you watch motorcycle daredevils, live elephants and aerial artists. Catch cowboys take the longest eight second ride of their life at the local rodeo. All of this is only steps away from the front door of your Tallahassee Community College apartment.

Cascades Park

Another great place in Tallahassee to catch some entertainment is Cascades Park. This park features an imagination fountain, walking trails and the Capital City Amphitheater. This 24-acre park opened in 2014. Some of the best free entertainment is people watching! Claim a shady spot under a tree or a patch of green grass and watch as all types of people pass. If live music is what gets ya going, there are plenty of artists that make a stop at the amphitheater. To check out a calendar of events, click here!
