So you're looking for some fun kid activities in Tallahassee, Fl. Tallahassee has a lot to offer kids of all ages. Tallahassee is a town that loves to be outside, so many of the kid-friendly activities are outside too. Don't worry, there is plenty to do that will keep your little ones entertained.

The City of Tallahassee has a great parks and recreation division, as a result, there are many parks with large playgrounds, picnic facilities, tennis courts, swimming pools and more to keep kids busy and active. Some of my favorites are Winthrop Park in Midtown and Tom Brown Park on the east side of Tallahassee. The large playgrounds incorporate play areas that are great for bigger kids and smaller equipment so even the little ones have a place to play. If you don't live close to either one of those parks there are lots more to choose from, check the City of Tallahassee website for more locations.

The Tallahassee Museum is a wonderful place for kid's activities in Tallahassee. At the Museum, kids can have fun, see animals and learn about Florida. Exhibits include an elevated boardwalk through animal habitats to see wildlife indigenous to this area. Some of the animals you will see there include the Florida Panther, Red Wolf, River Otter, Black Bear and American Alligator. You can also get a glimpse of Birds of Prey, snakes and Turtle Pond. Some other things in the Museum include a playground, Trail Break Café and the Big Bend Farm. If you like a little adventure, Tree to Tree Adventures offer zip-lining courses for kids and adults through the Park.

The Fun Station Family Fun Center on Sharer Road is a great place for kid's activities. On a beautiful day, you can enjoy a game of miniature golf, bumper boats or Go Carts. Inside you can play in the arcade or have a wild game of laser tag. Pizza and snacks are available, check the website for specials. If you need a break and want to sit back and watch a good movie, just a block over from the Fun Station is the AMC Theatres in the Tallahassee Mall. AMC has 20 theaters including IMAX and 3-D so everyone will be able to find something good.

Designed to get kids excited about science, math, engineering and technology, the Challenger Learning Center, located in downtown Kleman Plaza, has great kid's activities in Tallahassee. The first Saturday of each month has a free planetarium show at 10:00 am. The Challenger Learning Center also has a space mission simulator, and on the second Saturday of each month kids can be a part of a mission to Mars, the Moon or beyond. On the third Saturday of each month is a Kids Free Day with either a Free IMAX or Planetarium show. After the show kids can stay and participate in hands-on science activities. Check the website for schedules and registrations.

These are just a couple of the many fun things to do with kids in Tallahassee, but hopefully it's a place for you to start. There are also festivals, and places to go exploring, some things to do that are free, and much more. Have fun!
