My roommate and I are feeling festive for the holidays. Any tips on decorating our Florida State University Apartment?

Decorating your Florida State University apartment is such a great way to get into the holiday spirit and an awesome way to further bond with your roommate. Sometimes, in an apartment and with a roommate, there simply isn't enough room for large decorations, or a huge tree like one may find in a home display. However, there are still plenty of ways to get your FSU apartment into the holiday spirit.

Door wrapping

One of my favorite ways to decorate for the holidays is to wrap a door or two in my apartment so that they look like a huge present. Grab a roll of your favorite gift wrapping paper, some tape, scissors, and you're all set. Spread the wrapping paper from the bottom top to bottom and tape it on the inside of the door. If you're feeling REALLY festive, you can add a big ribbon or bow and even a card saying who the gift is to and from. Since you have 2 bedrooms, you and your roommate could turn it into a friendly competition to see who can decorate their bedroom door the prettiest. You could have a place where guests who come by could vote for either door and see who received the most votes after the holidays. Very simply, and very fun.

Balcony Display

Balcony displays are another favorite. If you can't set up a display in your front yard, you might as well put one on the balcony instead right? Of course! You can start line your railings or door to the balcony with Christmas lights for your neighbors to admire. You can place a small Christmas tree on the deck, a nativity display, a Hanukah or Kwanzaa display or whichever suits your customs. Lights are my favorite because they can be seen from far away. ‘Tis the season to be flashy! Dress your FSU apartment balcony up just how you want to get you in the holiday spirit.

Miniature Décor

If you don't have room for big decorations, you can always try miniature versions of your favorite holiday elements. A small Christmas tree on your living room floor, or even on your kitchen island can add a little holiday flare to your FSU apartment. You can even wrap miniature gifts and place them underneath. There are usually miniature decorations that will help you create the tiny version of your favorite holiday customs online and in some craft stores. Pic your favorites and make it perfect for your living space.

The holiday season should be a time where your living space feels like home and family. Hopefully these quick tips help you create the perfect holiday spirit in your Florida State University Apartment.
