Where is the best brunch near my FAMU apartment?

Whether you're a freshman who's just starting at Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University, freshly 21 and looking for an aesthetic spot, or a longtime local looking to try something new, brunch is a staple in a lot of our lives. From bottomless drinks to bottomless conversations, brunch is a way to connect with people we've just met or hang out with our favorite people. Here are three awesome places to grab some brunch near your FAMU apartment.

Madison Social

Located in Collegetown, Madison Social, affectionately known as Mad So, is definitely a fan favorite. Although the restaurant and bar serve food and drinks daily, Mad So opens early on Saturdays and Sundays to bring an awesome brunch menu to the city of Tallahassee. With a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options, there is absolutely something for every person in your party. To start, you must try the award-winning BLT dip. A delicious dip with bacon, spinach, tomato, cream cheese, and Greek yogurt served with grilled Cuban bread, the BLT is a huge hit in the Tallahassee community. Along with the delicious food, Mad So also serves some delightful cocktails. Of course, they have the classic mimosa but if you want to kick it up a notch, try the Brew-Mosa made with Victory Golden Monkey IPA, orange juice, and dash orange bitters. Make sure to take any leftovers to heat up at your FAMU apartment.

The Bada Bean

What started as a cozy little coffee shop has now transformed into one of the best brunch spots in Tallahassee. The Bada Bean, located off Apalachee Parkway and near Capital Circle, serves up some of the best classic American breakfast dishes. From omelets to biscuits and gravy to avocado toast, there is something for every breakfast lover. One of my favorite dishes to chow down on is the cinnamon roll pancakes, buttermilk pancakes filled with cinnamon swirl and topped with homemade cream cheese icing. Although The Bada Bean does not serve the ultimate brunch staple, mimosas, there is a hefty amount of caffeine to consume instead. Their specialty lattes are the cherry on top of their delicious meals. Some crowd favorites include the Snickers Latte, which includes peanut butter, chocolate, and caramel, the Gabby, made with caramel and white chocolate, and you must try the Frosted Praline, which includes pecans and white chocolate. If you're not a coffee drinker but still want some caffeine, The Bada Bean also has a wide variety of teas, including a delicious chai latte. Although this location might be a little further from your apartment near FAMU, it's definitely worth the trip.

Railroad Square Craft House

If you're looking to have some good views with some cute vibes, the Railroad Square Craft House is the perfect brunch spot for you. It's located super close to Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University and brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Railroad Square Craft House serves up some delicious brunch and even more delicious cocktails. They serve a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes, you can have some delicious food like breakfast tacos, made with sausage, pico de gallo, cheddar cheese, and scrambled eggs, or one of the best burgers I've ever had in Tallahassee. But one of the must-try dishes actually comes off the appetizer menu. The Bawk Bawk Dip, made with shredded buffalo chicken mixed with creamy cheese is the ultimate showstopper. Railroad Square Craft House does not serve bottomless mimosas, instead, they serve an awesome brunch cocktail fight that includes a poinsettia, a bellini, and a mimosa. One of the best parts of brunch here, you can bring your dog along!
