Tallahassee has a wide variety of restaurants, and they range in price and proximity. Tallahassee State College is a great location for finding exactly what you want to eat - and at a college budget!
Tallahassee has a large number of quick dining options close to campus. Located just across the road, facing TSC, is a Wendy's, where many students go to grab a quick bite. It's close and quick, which is perfect if you're in the mood for a late snack, or are rushing to class. Also, about 2 miles to the west, at the intersection of Tennessee Street and Capital Circle (two of the major roads near TSC) you'll find a plaza with plenty of restaurants and eateries. There is a Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds, Subway, Sonic, Firehouse Subs, and a Steak n' Shake. Go east down Tennessee and you'll find similar results, including a Moe's Southwest Grill, Chick-Fil-A, and Whataburger. Also, about a mile east down Pensacola (another major street that is the southern border to TSC campus) you can find a Mcdonalds and a Jimmy Johns. In this part of Tallahassee, you can always find a quick bite on your way to or from college.
However, many people find time to sit down and enjoy the company of classmates. Fortunately, the area around the TSC campus is filled with as hangouts. One of the most popular is Cancun's, which is east on Tennessee from the campus. After class you'll find a good number of FSU and TSC students there. Further east on the same street, you'll find other dining options, such as coffee shops (Panera Bread, Starbucks), frozen yogurt stores (Tropical Smoothie, Yogurt Mountain), and ethnic eateries. Some of the most sought after restaurants include A & J Sports Bar, and Mr. Roboto's Tokyo Grill. Going west on Tennessee and along Capital Circle, you'll find a Great Wall Chinese Restaurant, and an Applebee's.
Going back to Pensacola, as you go east, there is another cafe, The Grind Coffeehouse. As you keep going, though, you'll eventually hit the Westwood Shopping Center. There TSC and FSU students can find another Mr. Roboto's, Baja's Beach Club, Tijuana Flats, Hobbit Hoagies and many other restaurants. What's great about this road is that as you keep going east, you soon hit the core of FSU campus. Thus, you can guarantee that there will be eateries all over this street that cater to college.
These places all fit within a smaller budget. You can eat without having to pay big! Yet, at times students do seek finer dining options. You can always search for these around town. Most of the higher priced areas are located on the east side of Tallahassee. This means they are not near to TSC. But, you can find suitable options on Monroe Street (a major road in Tallahassee). Especially in the downtown area, you can find dining such as Harry's Seafood Bar & Grill, Andrew's 228, and Avenue Eat and Drink. These restaurants are located in a walkable part of downtown. Hence, you can enjoy some of the local attractions or just take and stroll and take in the metro feel. Other higher priced dining areas are located east (such as Macaroni Grill and Olive Garden) and northeast toward the suburban are.
There are plenty of dining options for TSC students, whether you're looking to spend less, trying to find college eateries, or seeking fine dining.
