Although Olivia was born in Connecticut, she considers herself a Florida girl at heart. After moving to Florida a few years ago, she is now a Florida State Seminole with a passion for community involvement.
Olivia grew up speaking both English and Portuguese because of her parent's Brazilian roots. Being bi-lingual, Olivia wanted to help those in her community who speak English as a second language to feel more comfortable with the language and ultimately close the language barrier that was impacting their lives. She was introduced to DARSA, a Florida State club where she's able to tutor elementary children in the Tallahassee public school system in multiple fields of study including English, Science, and History. Her experience with DARSA has been amazing and she is thankful she is able to use her own language skills to help others. When Olivia is not tutoring, you can find her at her sewing machine. Olivia recently taught herself how to sew and now creates her own stylish pieces. From t-shirts to tennis outfits, Olivia loves to use her creativity to make her own clothing.
At Florida State University, Olivia is a current sophomore majoring in Advertising and minoring in Psychology. Olivia has always had an interest in Digital Marketing but it wasn't until her previous internships that gave her real world experience was her passion solidified. Digital marketing that genuinely connects people with the necessary tools they need to be successful is what motivates Olivia. She has seen first-hand the power of helping others through mass media and strives to make the media a more productive place that assists others every day.
Growing up, Olivia had an infatuation with home-living. She'd spend hours binging HGTV and always dreamed of having her own apartment one day. If there was an open house in the area, Olivia was begging her mom to take her to explore. When Olivia arrived at Florida State, her passion for home-living continued. She took the time to tour nearly every apartment complex in the area before making a final decision. Olivia was searching for an off-campus apartment that was still close enough for her to walk to the stadium and campus. She wanted to feel independent enough to live off-campus but still have the luxury of being able to walk everywhere. Eventually, Olivia found the perfect fit for her. In addition to location, her new apartment had all the amenities she needed! She utilizes her gym and study room access daily and couldn't imagine an apartment without it!
When Olivia found out she was getting the opportunity to work for iLS Network, she was ecstatic because her two passions – helping her community and digital marketing – were combined in this one internship! Olivia truly believes that iLS is committed to helping people find their perfect apartment and she is excited to be part of the team.
