Regardless of what type of art or history you are in the mood for, there is a great variety of museums near apartments in Tallahassee. This city offers many cultural opportunities, especially with the multiple universities and the state capitol in the vicinity. So whether your tastes range from the old and historic to the modern and aesthetically appealing, there is bound to be a museum that you will enjoy!

Near Tallahassee apartments you can find the Museum of Florida History, a great place to learn about the history of our state. It opened in 1977 and showcases artifacts and exhibits exploring the past cultures of Florida. This museum actually has five venues, which include the Main Gallery, the Old Capitol, the Union Bank, Mission San Luis de Apalachee and the Knott House. Each of these locations offer something unique as it pertains to the culture and history of Florida. For example, The Union Bank is the state's oldest surviving bank building. One of the most impressive venues is the Old State Capitol, which was restored to reflect its 1902 appearance. This building was once utilized as the site where many of Florida's political undertakings took place.

The Florida State University of Fine Arts can also be found within close proximity to apartments in Tallahassee. This large, permanent collection has exhibits ranging everywhere from wood carvings to ceramics, pottery to printmaking and more. Students of Florida State University also feature their works within the venue from time to time.

This museum is also located in the oldest building on campus, the Carnegie Library.

A completely different type of museum, but still a much visited spot, is the Tallahassee Automobile Museum. This museum contains an extensive collection of unique vehicles. Some of the exhibits range from Abraham Lincoln's horse-drawn hearse, circa 1860, to The Batmobile uses in the 1992 movie, "Batman Returns."
